You can also fix it yourself by following these steps.
Materials for patching leaking ceramic tubs
Before entering the method, do not forget to prepare the following tools and materials first!

2. Lem epoxy resin
3. Cutter
4. Check it out
5. Wipes
How to patch a leaky bathtub
1. Leak Location Detection
The first thing to do is detect the location of the leak.
Look carefully and look for areas around the surface of the tub to find out where the source of the water is coming from.
Mark the source of the leak, you can use masking tape, or just take a photo and cut it out cell phone.
2. Make sure the bathtub in the bathroom is completely dry
Once you know the source of the leak, drain the tub until there is no more water.
Leave the tub to dry until it is completely dry. Usually this process takes about 24 hours.
Because, if there is still water left, the patching process will not be optimal because the glue cannot glue perfectly.
3. Drain the grout on the leaky tub

In a ceramic bathroom, there is grout, aka instant cement, which fills the spaces between the ceramics.
Cracked ceramic grout is usually the cause of tub leaks.
By disassembling the ceramic grout, the leakage point can be wider, because later the patching process becomes easier.
To disassemble it, use a cutter and start until the leakage hole becomes wider.
4. Preparing the Epoxy Glue to Fill the Gaps Between Ceramics
Epoxy glue is a glue used to fill the gaps between ceramics or other materials.
This glue consists of two types, namely hardener and resin. Both are sold in different packaging.
For maximum results of gluing bathroom ceramics, you need to mix the two glues first.
The mixing ratio is 1:1 between hardened epoxy glue and epoxy resin glue
Mix the two together, and the glue is ready for use.
It is important to note, the Epoxy glue mixture must be used within 1 hour.
In addition, the glue mixture hardens so that it is no longer used.
In addition to using epoxy, you can also use a high-quality waterproof coating, ie Aquaguard from Waterproof for a leaky bathtub.
Aquagard is a waterproof coating made of flexible cement with Flexible Cementitious Technology (FCT).
Therefore, this material is suitable for water places such as bathrooms, swimming pools, not concrete, fish ponds and others.
5. Apply Epoxy or Aquagard Glue Mix
After the glue is ready to be used, fill the spaces in the ceramic void because it was previously dismantled with Epoxy glue.
You can use a brush or a screwdriver to fill it perfectly and neatly.
In the meantime, if you use Aquagard from Aquaproof, here are the steps you can take:
– Combine the powder component and the liquid component of Aquagard, mix until smooth
– Apply the first layer of Aquagard with a brush, roller or spray
– In joints and areas prone to movement, use Aquaproof Polyester Mesh
– After the first layer of Aquagard is dry, re-layer Aquagard and if possible crosses from the first layer
If you have more than one leakage point, it is recommended to disassemble the ceramics in the bathroom and cover the entire inner surface of the bathtub with Aquagard twice.
6. Tidy Up The Glue Affected Ceramics
If the gap-filling glue spreads to the ceramic area because the previous smearing process was not clean, cut it off immediately.
Use wet wipes to remove any sloppy glue.
Do this while the glue is still wet for easy fixing.
7. Wait for the glue to dry completely for 24 hours
The patching process is complete.
Make sure that the leaking area has been patched with Epoxy glue or coated with Aquagard.
When you are sure, then just wait for the glue to dry perfectly.
Wait for about 24 hours. After that, the bathtub is ready to be filled with water.
